David Fuller (Jail Whole Life)

David Fuller was convicted of the murders of Wendy Knell and Caroline Pierce.

He murdered them in separate locations in 1987.

The murders, known as the Bedsit Murders, were cold case murders but advances in DNA testing allowed police to identify his DNA on crime sene evidence.

After he was arrested it was found that he had sexually abusing bodies at two Kent hospitals were he worked as an electrician. He was also found to have had millions of indecent images and videos of children and extreme pornography on hard drives, floppy discs, DVDs and memory cards in his home. Video of him abusing corpses at the hospirals he had worked at were also found. Other videos showed him molesting female bodies, including three children, between 2008 and November 2020.

THe police were able to identify 78 victims but said that there were 20 people whose bodies he had mollested that they could not identify.

He had worked at the Kent and Sussex Hospital until it closed in 2011 after which he was transferred to the Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury where he continued to work until he was arrested.

he was also noted for having carried out 30 burglaries that he had kept a note of during the 1970s which the police had described as 'creeper-style'.

Wendy Knell

Wendy Knell was sexually assaulted, beaten and strangled in her bedsit in Guildford Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent on 23 June 1987.

David Fuller's DNA was found on Wendy Knell's bedding, towel and intimate samples.

The court heard that Wendy Knell had been raped during or after her death.

It was heard that David Fuller had been a customer at SupaSnaps in Camden Road where Wendy Knell had worked at the time she was murdered and it was thought that he had met her through that.

Caroline Pierce

Caroline Pierce was attacked outside her home in Grosvenor Park, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, sexually assaulted and killed.

She was found in a water filled dyke in Romney Marsh three weeks after her abduction. She was naked apart from her tights.

David Fuller's semen was found on Caroline Pierce's tights.

He had been a member of a cycling club in the 1980s and one of their routes regularly went passed the place where Caroline Pierce's body was found.

A diary that was found showed that David Fuller had gone to Buster Brown's restaurant on Camden Road where Caroline Pierce had been a manager and it was thought that he had met her through that.
